Discovery and history of ozone
in 1839 C. F. After the discovery of ozone by Schönben, surface ozone measurements were started in many places since 1860. In 1913, the first atmospheric ozone observations took place in the 1920s, after ultraviolet measurements determined that ozone was within the stratosphere layer at most. Since 1934, after the measurement of the maximum ozone concentration around 20 km by balloon measuring devices, regular ozone observations were started towards the end of the 1950s.
history of ozone
the benefits of ozone or oxygenated water in the service of medicine for 167 years were first discovered in Switzerland in 1840 by the German chemist Christian Fredrick Schönbein, who named it ozone.
in 1856 it was used for operating room disinfection.
it was used in water disinfection in Monaco in 1860. As well as killing bacteria and viruses, it was discovered to eliminate the smell and bad taste in the water, and was used as a disinfectant in drinking water.
In 1900, Nicola Tesla patented the first ozone generator.
in 1909 it was used as a food preservative for cold storage of meat.
1 in 1915. During World War II, gangrene and wounds were inflicted by Dr. Albert Wolf treated him with ozone.
in 1926, Dr. Otto Warburg reported in Berlin that cancer was caused by lack of oxygen at the cell level and was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1931 and 1944 for this invention.
in 1939 storage of fruits was found to prevent the spread of yeast and mold.
in 1957, Dr. J. Hansler patented his own medical ozone generator.
In 1977, Dr. Renate Viebahn explained the effects of ozone in the body technically.
in 1979, Dr. George Freibott treated his first AIDS patient with ozone.
in 1980, Dr. Horst Kief suggested that he had achieved success in treating AIDS with ozone.
ozone, It has also been used in burn treatments in Russia since 1992.
since 1998, it has been used in the Red Crescent Altintepe Research Hospital and some offices in Turkey.
1999 Dave found that cell membranes deteriorated when he interfered with Salmonella Enteritidis in aqueous ozone with a transmission electron microscope.
in the years 2000, he found himself in use in every factory, mainly in water plants.
after 2005, it started to be used in every field in our daily life.
by 2008, all factories and all areas experienced will be needed.
history of GRAS status of ozone:
in 1982, the FDA announced that the use of ozone in packaged water was GRAS status.
in 1995, the FDA renewed GRAS status without amending the use of ozone in packaged water.
1997 the IEP (industry expert panel) announced the GRAS status of ozone and stated that it meets the requirements of the FDA. Regulators later took the authority to control ozone use.
1999 the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) rejected the protocol on the use of ozone in meat in 1982 because of the FDA’s statement that “all uses except ozone in water must be regulated by Food Additive Petition”.
in 2000, the FDA and the USDA approved the use of ozone in both water and air.
in 2002, the USDA ozone final report gave extensive coverage to the use of ozone as a liquid solution and gaseous state in food.
the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has taken a leading role in statements and discussions about the extinction of the ozone layer over time. For the first time in 1975, the Intergovernmental ozone layer general assessment report was published in order to bring to the agenda the necessary efforts to take measures to prevent the destruction of the ozone layer. Since then, the World Meteorological Organization has organized preparations for 7 major Ozone Assessment studies. The most recent evaluation study was published in 2002. Based on this assessment, the countries of the world signed the “Vienna Convention on the protection of the ozone layer”in 1985 and the “Montreal Protocol on the protection of the ozone layer”in 1987. All these conventions and protocols constitute the beginning of efforts to solve global environmental problems under the umbrella of the United Nations.
